(Corn Lily)

Half hardy plants grown for their star shaped flowers, often with contrasting dark centres. The flowers are held on wiry stems above thin basal leaves, during June and July. You may get some leaves developing on the flower stems. In very mild areas they can be planted out in March and then lifted in late summer when the foliage has died down. Otherwise treat as a greenhouse or conservatory plant and plant in pots in early autumn, using very well drained compost. Plant the bulbs 5cm (2”) deep.
